Reviewers' Comments:
PRAISE FOR SAVING TOM BLACK
Saving Tom Black is a story that is pure, yet exciting; tender, yet brimming with danger; sad, yet joyous. It is a story that will cascade you with emotions, and at the end leave you satisfied and smiling. This is one book I would be proud to keep in my personal library and recommend to young and old. This is a writer who knows how to get into your very heart with a true treasure of a read. Well done! Shirley Johnson, Senior Reviewer/MidWest Book Review Jere D. James has written a jim-dandy of a book. James sets a nice pace with his gripping novel. Saving Tom Black has it all; a beautiful young refugee from an orphanage; a kindly Samaritan; a stalwart U. S. Marshal; deadly desperados; and a wonderful story of budding love. Marshall Trimble, Official Arizona State Historian
Jere D. James has written a book that grabs the reader's attention from the opening paragraph and doesn't let go until the final word. His smooth flowing prose is easy to read and he paces the story beautifully. There are many heart-warming scenes and others that sadden. Saving Tom Black is filled with memorable characters that are portrayed expertly, making it easy for the reader to share their pain and joy. Steve Myall, Western Fiction Review
Using a historical event as its nexus, Jere D. James' novel, Saving Tom Black, introduces the reader to a host of unique, memorable characters, all trying to survive in the Old West. The result is an exciting, well-written and oft-times tender adventure that is a damned good read! Steve Hayes, Author of Escort West, Packing Iron, Viva Gringo!
