PAULA L. SILICI grew up in San
Francisco where romantic tales of the old West, the 1849 Gold Rush and Western Expansion thrived. At age 12 she completed
her first Western novel and has been writing ever since. Her award-winning short stories, nonfiction articles, and poetry
have appeared in numerous regional and national publications. She currently resides with her husband near Denver, Colorado.

Western author and historian J.R. SANDERS is a native of Newton,
Kansas - one of the original “wild and wooly” cowtowns - whose deep interest in Old West history dates back to
childhood visits with his family to the Dalton Gang hideout, Abilene, and Dodge City. He currently lives
in Southern California with his wife, Rose, and dogs, Faro and Monte. A
frequent contributor to Wild West magazine, J.R. is a member of the Western Writers of America. The
Littlest Wrangler is his first children’s book. Forthcoming is Some Gave All, a Western nonfiction.

JERE D. JAMES
is a penname for the author of Saving Tom Black, Apache, and the forthcoming Canyon of Death.
James resides in Arizona, where he travels about in his horse trailer with his mule, horse, dog, and boxes of books. James
has written several suspense novels under a different name, but keeps his actual identity strictly under wraps.
