NONFICTION QUERIES:

1. Please send us a hard copy of the first three chapters of the book, along with a maximum two page synopsis and a marketing plan.

2. Make sure all documents are double spaced.

3. Include a cover letter giving us an idea of who you are and what motivated you to write this book.

4. If you want your materials returned, please send a SASE also.

5. We will do our best to respond to your query as soon as possible. Remember that we are frequently out of town attending various events.

6. Our expectation for you is that you will actually walk your talk and take a real interest in trying to sell your book if it is accepted. If you do not have the interest in selling your own book, please do not expect us to invest our time and money in the project. We do not appreciate people who give us lip service about all the things they plan to do, and then never follow through. NO ONE CAN SELL A BOOK AS WELL AS THE AUTHOR.

7. Don't bother to submit materials if you are a pushy, demanding, temperamental sort. We don't operate that way around here. If you can't deal with setbacks and problems that arise in a reasonable manner and discuss things calmly, apply somewhere else! Life is too short to deal with screamers and tantrum throwers.
